Biography

A clinical scientist and self-taught artist who has always been intrigued by the human brain and emotions, Lena has in the last few years seen her passion for art manifests itself in the painting of vibrant, realistic portraitures and compositions. Her scientific background has shaped her work, which features detailed analysis and representation of the subject matter, along with a strong emphasis on the subtleties and range of emotional expressions. Inspired by classical works from the likes of Bouguereau, Caravaggio, Rembrandt and Sargent, she focuses on capturing the soul and essence of her subjects, creating an intimate emotional connection between their character and the viewer.
